캄보디아에서는 아직까지 카카오가 재배된다는 얘기를 정확히 듣지 못해서 정보를 찾아봤다.

위 링크에 따르면 카카오가 재배가능한 지역은 

Most of the world's cocoa is grown in a narrow belt 10 degrees either side of the Equator because the treesgrow well in humid tropical climates with regular rains and a short dry season. Even temperatures between 21and 23 degrees centigrade, with a fairly constant rainfall of 1,000 to 2,500 mm per year, are needed withouthot dry winds and drought

와 같으며 아시아에서는 말레이시아 인도네시아가 재배중이다.

강우량 조건으로 볼 때 팜오일 나무와 재배환경이 비슷하여 캄보디아에서는 제한적인 지역에서만 재배가 가능할 것으로 생각되고, 짧은 건기조건을 맞추는게 어려울 듯 하다.
